Quilting
Here are two new quilts to show you by new craft Dara D.
from Georgia. Dara loves to sew and quilt. These King size
quilts are completely hand stitched. The first one is done
in Pinks with several squares of Sunbonnet Sues. The
second quilt I call Blue Swirl. Both are for sale in the shop.
PAINT ON WHAT?
These two paintings are by local Smoky Mountain artist Maxine F.
Maxine will paint on pretty much anything, like the leaf or feather
she has painted on in these pictures. Maxine also loves to paint
about things you would see in the mountains, so you will see cabins,
mountains, Smoky Mtn. Trout, Deer, Owls, and more.

MORE THAN JUST CRAFTS
When you say crafts most folks are going to think of things
like crochet baby booties, baskets, Christmas ornaments, etc.
We do have all that but we have much more, we have practical
items that have every day uses, we also have things that can
be used and pass down to others. Like crochet wash clothes,
very durable to use, or scrubbies to use in your kitchen. Handmade
dolls that can be played with or collected. So I thought I would
just show you some things in the shop that show you they are
more than just a nifty craft item. They can be very useful.

BASKETS
WOVEN BASKETS: These baskets are hand woven by Bonnie W.
right here in the Smoky Mountains of Townsend, TN. Bonnie
takes care to make each of her baskets with care to detail and quality.
They are not only useful but are pretty just as they are.
The first basket is a small basket aprox. 4 inches high and 6 inches wide

The middle basket is of medium size aprox. 6 inches high and 8 inches wide.

The last basket is a larger size of aprox. 7 inches high and 11 inches wide.

BABY QUILTS
Well you can see this is not my best picture taking, but I
hope you can see what a pretty baby quilt this is. All in
pink and ready for any little girl. Would also look nice
as a hanging on any wall in any girls room. Something
to hold on to and pass on to the next generation.
This pattern is known as Dutch Girl, some may know it
as Sunbonnet Sue also. This quilt was made by a crafter
in the mountains of North Carolina. If you have any

Quilted Wall Hanging: Colorful Owls
Is this quilted hanging by Lynne C. in North Carolina not just “cute” or what.
Lynne is so talented, she takes pieces of cloth and makes the most
gorgeous things, I wish I had the talent. I appreciate the work that goes
into quilting and sewing and all you folks that do it know there is a lot of
time involved but I know also that you love doing it. These quilted creations
are a work of Art, I think you could hang this on the wall in any room. I only
have the one, so you know what you need to do if you are interested.
Placemats
These colorful placemats are made from old pieces of Blue Jeans and
all different pieces of colorful cloth. They would look good in a country
kitchen or a cabin, they could also be used in a bedroom atop a dresser.
As cute as these are you could use them any where you like. Again, I take
terrible pictures so you can not tell but there is 12 of these placemats and
each one is a little different, they measure about 18 inches by 12 inches.
I can’t sew, my mom and both my grandmothers tried to teach me but
I was hopeless, but Lynne C., a crafter, from North Carolina sure can
sew and create some beautiful quilts, quilted wall hangers and placemats,
Lynne’s things would look good in any home and be a treasure to keep
and pass down for years to come. Check back soon I have a new wall
hanging from Lynne that I plan on posting.
